They might seem loud in the video, but they really are not.

5 out of 5 stars These are excellent wipers   March 21, 2006

I put a set of 19" Bosch Icon wipers on a 2000 Toyota Tundra during the past week and they have wiped rain, sleet and heavy snow during the recent Midwest winter storm. Based on a week's observation, I have to say these are the best windshield wipers I have ever used in nearly 30 years of bad weather driving. There is virtually no chatter or streaking. Time and summer bugs will tell if they hold up and the initial cost is higher than most other wipers but the quality is clearly there. You do have to purchase "A" series for the drivers side and "B" for the passenger due to shape and size but they are usually in sets. I paid $37.00 at a local parts store and installed them myself but you can shop around the net or your local area and perhaps find them cheaper. These are the future of windshield wipers.

5 out of 5 stars Sexiest Wipers Ever! Driver's Side   December 24, 2007

Yes I said SEXIEST ever....

It was time again to put new wipers on my 2002 Ford F-250. IN my relentless search for all things cool I happened upon these Bosch wiper blades here on Amazon.com. After reading some of the reviews I decided to take the plunge and order up a set (after all you need a matched set - right?). Again these wipers were listed on Amazon PRIME so after a dash of technical wizardry the wipers appeared at my office from the friendly UPS man.

I eagerly tore into the box to discover the wipers there, nicely packaged and looking pretty and just yearning to be mounted on my truck.

When I got home that evening I opened-up my garage and hauled out my ladder to make the wiper swap (seeing as how my truck is VERY lifted I have to use a ladder for 'ordinary' maintenance items such as wipers, oil changes, etc.). The instructions on changing out the wipers are easy to follow and straight forward. Actually the most difficult part of this whole operation was getting the OLD wipers off of my truck.

Once the old wipers were off the new ones mount up with ease. All you need to do is to squeeze the Bosch wipers at the hatch markings on the side. This opens up the catch allowing your wiper arms to thread through the opening and mate up with the catch on the blade. If seated properly (there is only one way to put them on) the top piece will easily close over the arm locking the arm and wipers into place. In a stiff cross-breeze with gloves on the mounting of the new blades took all of 45 seconds at the most.

Once mounted I decided to "test drive" the wipers. I drove up and down a road close to our house checking for uplift or to see if they chattered or moved around while they were in operation and while they were in motion. The Bosch wipers made fast work cleaning my windshield (water) and did not streak or lose contact with the glass surface.

Another note that is pretty cool - the wipers, when stationary proudly display the BOSCH 'logo' on the wipers - kind of black on black. Very cool and classy looking.

A final note - the wipers are very clean looking. Gone is the exoskeletal suspension system we are all used to seeing on those 'other' wipers out there. These are VERY unusual yet elegant looking.

I give these blades a very enthusiastic THUMBS UP. Give them a try - buck traditional blades!

**** UPDATE **** July 22, 2010 ****
Well the time has finally come to replace these wipers. Part of the rubber blade that is in constant contact with my windshield has started to separate from the rest of the wiper body. I will say that I am completely satisfied with the wipers and their longevity... and have just ordered another set from Amazon!! These wipers are a great value and worth the money. These last MUCH longer than the wipers you see at auto parts stores. To give you an idea - traditional wipers last me about 12-16 months.

That said these wipers will have lasted me 953 days from installation to re-installation (that's 2 years, 7 months and 10 days)! To further recap - I live N of Dallas, TX where we have extremely hot summers and cold winters (this past winter we had a BUNCH of snow) and these wipers performed flawlessly in all weather.

5 out of 5 stars Where the rubber meets the road   October 19, 2007

For more than 30 years, I've searched high and low for the perfect wiper blade. Being a little tiny bit obsessive about my car, one of the things I can NOT tolerate is a chattering, noisy, smeary, streaky wiper blade. Driving in the rain is hard enough without feeling like you're trying to look through a wax-paper windshield.

In the past, I'd put new wiper blades on my car two or three times a year and sometimes more, just to make sure I never had to deal with wiper smear or worse, wiper chatter. That sound is like fingernails on a blackboard to me!!

I'd also clean the rubber edge several times between blade changes, to keep the leading edge clean and free from debris and gooey tree gunk and junk. Due to my desire to keep the finest quality blades on the car, I'd only buy authentic Toyota blades for my 2003 Camry and then one day...

An associate at the local Toyota dealer talked me into buying the rubber inserts for the blades, rather than the whole blade assembly. For 20 minutes, I waited and watched as she fiddled around trying desperately to get the inserts into the arm assembly. Two days later (and 10 minutes of use later), while driving in a light rain storm, the whole thing came apart in pieces, scratching my windshield in the process. It was a Sunday afternoon (dealer was closed), so I drove directly to the auto parts store and told them I wanted the most expensive wiper-blade they sold. They took me to the Bosch Icon and said, "these are the best, but they're pricey."

I couldn't be more pleased with the quality and performance of this product. The two blades I bought for Cammie cost less than $50 which isn't THAT much contrasted against the frustration of not being able to see clearly through the windshield when it rains.

April 2008 UPDATE: I am on my second pair of Bosch Icons and I'm saddened to say that I am no longer "raving" about these things. While they're just swell for the first 60 days, they deteriorate quickly after that and become streaky and smeary. When I was buying wiper blades for my daughter's car, I asked the auto parts guy about the Bosch Icon. He replied, "I'm not that impressed with them either. They don't last long."

This is by far the best windshield wiper I have used on a car. When I bought my car it came with some old, no-name brand wipers that didnt really do much (in fact in heavy rain or snow I tried to use them as little as possible because they made it worse!). Finally I got tired of not being able to see properly whenever the weather got bad, especially when driving behind other cars on the highway and having water/slush flung onto my windshield. So I did a bit of looking around and decided to try these (got two wipers for $35 with the free shipping, which isnt even bad) and from the day I got them they have been GREAT! Now I have great visibility even in heavy rain or snow flurries, I actually didn't know my windshield was this clear. Definitely recommended over skimpimg on a few extra dollars and getting cheapo wipers.
